Urban with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, anxiolytic-like, antidepressant-like, hepatoprotective and significant wound healing activity, suppresses collagen expression and TGF-β/Smad signaling through inducing Smad7 and inhibiting TGF-βRI and TGF-βRII in keloid fibroblasts, and is a biochemical modulator that induce apoptosis.

描述Asiaticoside (ATS) is a saponin component extracted from the medicinal plant Centella asiatica. It inhibits TGF - β RI and TGF - β RII , and TGF - β / Smad signaling pathway by activating Smad7. Asiaticoside significantly diminished keloid fibroblast proliferation by 28, 30, and 51%, at 100, 250, and 500 mg/L after 3 days, respectively^[3].In vivo, asiaticoside (50 mg/kg daily) blocks the development of hypoxic pulmonary hypertension (PH), cardiovascular remodeling and endothelial cell injury in rats with pulmonary hypertension^[4]. Moreover, asiaticoside (5, 15 or 45 mg/kg) improves the learning and memory deficit, protects hippocampi against the impairment, decreases Aβ deposits in the hippocampus^[5].
