描述Chrysin, a natural flavonoid contained in many plants, has many biological activities. Chrysin can inhibit cell proliferation and induce apoptotic in ovarian cancer cell via the PI3K and MAPK pathways. Besides this, it was found that chrysin also suppresses glycolysis and induces apoptosis in hepatocellular carcinoma cell mainly through down-regulating the expression of hexokinase-2(HK-2). In vivo studies, chrysin has the ability of protecting the prostate against the benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH) induced by testosterone in rats. In addition, chrysin could contribute to the neuroprotection against the damage induced by 6-hydroxidopamine (6-OHDA) in mice and regulat the expression of some special inflammatory cytokines and neurotrophic factors in striatum.
